The Pelican Pickers, a group of 15 musicians from the local area will be performing at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 13 at Playground Music Center in Ft. Walton Beach. The Pickers are primarily dulcimer players, but augment their sound with banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle and harmonica. Their music is in the Appalachian Mountain tradition and features songs that were popular in the 1800's and early 1900's. The Pickers have attracted wide audiences with appearances in this area and at regional dulcimer festivals in Florida and Alabama.. Their web site is www.pelicanpickers.com.
